Inspired by the tradition of craftsmanship and mastery of technique, ‘Jemari’ is an homage to craftsmen and women who, with their individual expertise, complement each other in creating works that embody the soul of artistry. This collection is dedicated to humanity’s relationship with their own hands, a reminder of the meticulousness of handicraft that was the norm throughout history before the advent of mass production.
Large embroidery of roses is directly inspired by the tradition of medieval glasswork, especially stained glass panels. Meanwhile, ruffle, patch, and piping details are a callback to English wallpaper designs in the 19th century. Combining two traditions with our beloved ‘Habut’ motif in two new colours, ‘Jemari’ highlights the beauty in the carefulness of creating and crafting.
